Today's "Marriage" Scripture by Jason Hunt *July 17 & 18, 2010*

Proverbs 3:3-4

Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.

Kindness is the action of carrying out the fruits of the Spirit. Solomon encourages us to never let it leave us, even to Tie them around your neck to remind us. Kindness in marriage is a critical component to maintain the good reputation Solomon refers to. Kindness is a gentle response when tensions are high, foresight to meet a need before it is asked for, making time for one another and going the extra mile to make sure your spouse knows how much you love them.

Lord, You shower us with kindness, mercy and grace. Give us the desire and perseverance to always show kindness to those around us, Father. Write loyalty and kindness within our hearts.

In Jesus' Name.
