Today's "Marriage" Scripture by Jason Hunt *July 24 & 25, 2010*

1 Corinthians 5:6

Your boasting about this is terrible. Don't you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough?

Paul was very upset to hear that the church in Corinth was too proud to take action against the sexual immorality in their midst. He reminds them that sexual sin can have very small beginnings then grow to dominate ones mind; eventually manifesting into actions.

Often when we agree to remain true to our spouses at the alter our understanding of what that really means is fairly minimal. A couple must be prepared to talk about the 'yeast' in one another and protect themselves from sexual immorality. It will effect every aspect of our lives if not dealt with.

Lord, give us the courage to confess our sins to one another. Protect our marriages Father from the allure of sexual immorality. Restore our purity Lord.

In Jesus' Name.
