Today's Scripture *August 5, 2010*
Proverbs 17: 3
Fire tests the purity of silver and gold,
But the Lord tests the heart.
It takes intense heat to purify gold and silver. Similarly, it often takes the heat of trials for the Christian to be purified. Through trials, God shows us what is in us and clears out anything that gets in the way of complete trust in Him. Peter says, " These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.". (1 Peter 1: 7)
So when tough times come your way, and be sure they will, realize that God wants to use them to refine your faith and purify your heart.
Thank You Father God for wanting to purify and cleanse Your children.
May we take heart and support one another as trials and troubles come.
We trust that You can and will use all things in our lives to bring us closer to You.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, whohave been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8: 28)
In Your Name we pray, Amen ..
Blessings!
April
