Today's Scripture *August 30th, 2010*
1 Samuel 24: 9-10
Then he shouted to Saul, “Why do you listen to the people who say I am trying to harm you? This very day you can see with your own eyes it isn't true. For the Lord placed you at my mercy back there in the cave. Some of my men told me to kill you, but I spared you. For I said, ‘I will never harm the king—he is the Lord’s anointed one.’
David would rather be obedient to God then be king.
Ask yourself what things to do want?
Do you want that (desire that) thing more than you desire obedience to God?
Can you honestly say to yourself :"I'd rather be obedient to God then have that thing"?
Is your first priority God and being obedient to Him?
Is your very hearts desire to become a person after the heart of God?
Put God's will and God's desires above your own (John 3: 30 He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.)
Heavenly Father, we praise and worship You above all things and above all others.
May our lives be walked out as children of obedience to our Lord and Savior.
Help us and guide us, we humbly pray, O Sovereign and Just Lord, to truly have a heart that desires us becoming less and less and You becoming "greater and greater".
In Jesus' Precious and Holy Name, Amen..
