Today's Scripture *September 13, 2010*
Psalm 119: 2-3
Joyful are those who obey his laws
And search for him with all their hearts.
And search for him with all their hearts.
They do not compromise with evil,
And they walk only in his paths.
And they walk only in his paths.
Recently my husband and I started evaluating the movies we found ourselves watching or drawn to. We started asking, "Would Jesus watch this film?"; "What's the appeal about this movie?"; "Why are we drawn toward these movies?"; "Does this movie honor God?"; "Would we want to tell our friends, pastors, or family that we just saw this movie?"
You know the old tested and true saying, "What would Jesus do?!" It's not corny, its not silly, its not unrealistic! Truly..What would Jesus do? How do we know what Jesus would do?
Well..let's start there. Do you know His Word? In the Bible is God's Law and also God's character! Find our what Jesus would do! Here we are told "do not compromise with evil, and walk only in His paths".
We spend far too much time compromising our faith, our morals, and our behavior. By compromising we start to desensitize ourselves to the evil all around us in this world.
"Walk only in His paths" that's our challenge! That truly answers the question and give us,"What Jesus would do!"
O God, we love You! And we are excited to walk in Your ways!
May we each search for You with all our hearts. Help us never to compromise with evil.
May we truly walk only in Your path. Thank You for showing us in Your Word, "What Jesus would do".
May we walk in those shoes on that path! In Jesus' Name, Amen..
