Today's Scripture *October 5, 2010*
Psalm 139: 23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
And lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Here is a man who has a heart after God!
If a person has a heart after God they will want to obey Him! You will want to follow after God as best as you can. Seeking and asking Him to search your heart. To test your thoughts. So how do we know God's heart?
The Word of God!! When we study and fuel up on God's Word we will want to follow after Him..we will know better His heart, His will, His desires.
We should obey Him because we have a strong desire to have a genuine relationship with Him. We should ask Him to search our hearts and test our thoughts because we love Him!
Remember friends, no one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes.
But as God's children--we all have the gift of forgiveness and His grace.
It is God whom we should ask "point out anything in me that offends You".
We should be concerned in that which offends God. People will always find some fault in one another! And people will always disappoint or fall short. Every person has sinned and fallen short of His glory. Romans 3: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (NIV)
But when we serve God--we have the true gift of coming to Him and having Him search our heart and test our thoughts. And He will point out what offends Him. And it is between you and God to set those matters, thoughts, or actions right with Him. Seek to please God! If you seek to please people--they will always find some fault with you. Ask God to "lead you along the path of everlasting life".
Father, we pray this Scripture over our lives today.
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. In Jesus' Name, Amen..
John 8: 7 ... “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”
