Ashley's Today's Scripture *October 18, 2010*
1 Chronicles 28:9
"And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
God wants us to serve Him. He wants us to be faithful to Him and help Him build up the Kingdom of God. But He doesn't want us to do it with a half heart. He wants us to do it wholeheartedly and with full devotion. We cant make it a chore but an adventure, one that we want to go about doing. The Lord knows our thoughts, we can have a smile on our faces while doing something and pretend like we are doing it with a wholehearted spirit but inside God knows what's going on and what we are thinking. We need to make sure that we are faithful to Him. We need to repay Him for the many things He does for us, He died on a cross for our sins. The least we can do, is serve Him with complete devotion.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for everything You have done for us. Thank You for allowing us to serve You and giving us the chance to show You that we love You. I pray that we will have good intentions when we serve and that we wont be down but instead we will be happy that we are doing good works for You.
