Matthew 23:10
And don't let anyone call you ‘Teacher,’ for you have only one teacher, the Messiah.
I am continuing our series about all the names of Jesus this week.
Today is Fathers Day, the day we celebrate fathers and the day we praise our Father in Heaven.
Father's are here to help us learn and apply what God's Word teaches us.
Many times in the Bible you will hear the name Teacher, this is a name Jesus was called. He was and is our Teacher.
In this Scripture we are told that we are not supposed to call people teachers because only the Messiah is our teacher.
The Messiah is Jesus and He is our Ultimate Teacher.
At my church I volunteer in a children's class every Sunday morning and in that class I am called "teacher Ashley".
When we teach for Christ we are His Disciples so really we should be called Disciples or helpers of the Lord.
A Father is supposed to teach their child things in God's Word and things that God has told him. They are helping with the Lords plan by doing this.
Thank God for our Wonderful Teacher, Jesus Christ!
And for Dad's all over the world.
Dear Lord,
I thank You for this wonderful day and I thank You for every dad.
I pray that You will give them strength to keep teaching for Your will and purpose.
We thank You for being our Teacher.
I pray that You will just help us to be good followers of You.
