Psalm 69: 9
For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
The New Living Translation translates "zeal" as "passion"
Passion for your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult you have fallen on me (NLT)
Are you truly passionate for the Lord's house? (His church, His will for you? His Word?)
Passion is often a word reserved for intimate relationships. Are you truly passionate about God?
Do you serve God with zeal?
When others turn away from the Lord does your heart break?
When others take lightly the name of our Lord and Savior, do you feel insulted and consumed with grief?
We need to be like David here in this Psalm. Passionate and zealous for our Fathers house--His people, His Kingdom, and consumed by His Word and His desires. We should feel grieved when others insult our Lord and quickly turn to God in prayer for them.
Father God, we worship You and adore You.
May our lives be pleasing unto You, O God.
Help us to renew our passion and zeal for Your house!
May our desires be in line with Yours.
Make us passionate and help us to be consumed by Your Word!
In Your Precious and Mighty Name, Amen..
