Ashley's Today's Scripture *August 31,2008*

John 15:5

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Today we are continuing with our series on the names of Jesus.This weeks Is " He is the Vine " .

In this Scripture we are being told that Christ is the Vine and that we are the branches. If you look at a vine there is a main body and that is what Jesus calls Himself and then there are branches and that is what Jesus calls us.

The second part of this Scripture is telling us that if we are in Him we will produce fruit. The fruit meaning all the fruits of the Spirit and our deeds done for Christ will be evident in our lives.

Dear Lord,

We thank You so much for this Scripture and all that it has to say to us.

Please help us to be in You so that we may be able to produce fruit.

I pray for this week that we will be able to honor You and draw near to You.

In Jesus' Name We Pray,
