Today's Scripture *September 1, 2008*
Romans 12: 11-12
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
These verses have been a personal favorite of mine for many, many years.
Through good times and bad times--I have held on tightly to these Words.
Never be lacking in zeal!! Zeal is defined in the dictionary as "fervor for a person, cause, or object; eager desire or endeavor; enthusiastic diligence; ardor. "
Are you eager for the causes of Christ?
Do you desire Him with your entire being?
Do you serve the Lord with passion and a burning fire?
God's Word tells us to be joyful in hope -- we have a wonderful eternal hope in Christ! We have much to be joyful about!
God's Word also tells us to be patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.
Do you pray only when you need something from God? Or do you pray faithfully at all times in all circumstances?
Challenge yourself this new month to "Never be lacking in zeal. But keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer!
God rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
Embrace these words this month! Hold tightly to Christ's desire to be your All-in-All!
Thank You Jesus for the new month ahead of us.
May we hold tightly to these Words You have given us.
May we walk with a new zeal and a new fiery passion for You!
You, Lord Jesus, are our All-in-All!
