Today's Scripture *October 16, 2008*
Colossians 2:7
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
Paul used the illustration of our being rooted in Christ. Just as plants draw nourishment from the soil through their roots, so we draw our life-giving strength from Him, and the less we will be fooled by those who falsely claim to have life's answers. If Christ is our strength, we will be free from human regulations. Let your life be "built on Him".
Thank You Jesus for giving us the daily nourishment we need.
We know that in and through You is life! May we live it abundantly, drawing our strength from Christ!
