Today's Scripture *November 18, 2008*
Genesis 16:5
Then Sarai said to Abram, “This is all your fault! I put my servant into your arms, but now that she’s pregnant she treats me with contempt. The Lord will show who’s wrong—you or me!”
Although Sari arranged for Hagar to have a child by Abram, she later blamed Abram for the results. It is often easier to strike out in frustration and accuse someone else than to admit an error and ask forgiveness. Adam and Eve did the same thing in Genesis 3: 12-13 The man replied, “It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.” Then the Lord God asked the woman, “What have you done?” “The serpent deceived me,” she replied. “That’s why I ate it.”
Thank You God for accountability! Help us to be accountable and ask for forgiveness when we do something wrong.
May we stop deflecting and playing the blame game, and take responsibility for our own actions.
We love You Lord, and we thank You for Your gift of Forgiveness. In Jesus' Name, Amen..
God bless you!
