Today's "Marriage" Scripture by Jason Hunt *January 9, 2009*

Song of Songs 2:7
Promise me, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles and wild deer, not to awaken love until the time is right.

The young bride is encouraging her friends to wait until marriage to enjoy sexual union. But digging a little deeper we see a principle of godly relationship here.
Have you ever tried to approach a wild animal, or a pet that didn't want to be caught. If you move suddenly or make a loud noise they flee. Love is the same way, it can't be stolen, taken or rushed. A woman wants to be pursued, desired and wanted. For our wives to desire intimacy her husband must take the time to listen to her, make her comfortable and relaxed. When we invest in love the chemistry brings a man & his wife into union the way God intended--With each other seeking to meet the others needs.

Lord you are the Architect of love, intimacy and sexual union. May we keep ourselves pure and desire only the one You have blessed us with. Thank You for the bliss that comes with marriage done Your way.
In Jesus' name.
Amen.
