Today's "Family" Scripture by Jason Hunt *January 31, 2009*
2 Timothy 2:20 & 21
In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.
We are all instruments in God's hands. His home is a wealthy home. He has a wealth of resources in us for His use.

Some of us are limited to being used for everyday use. Others yet are designated for special occasions.
In order to be used for God's honorable use we must remain pure. Without purity we are distracted by the enemy-- too tired to pray, read or just wait and listen. When a special task is needed God takes a polished spoon to feed someone, a sparkling knife to carve someone's character in love, or a fork to grab hold a stray heart. In what way do you desire the Lord use you for His work?
Almighty Father, let us be at Your use and in Your service. Strengthen us Lord, that we may bring You glory. Sharpen us with other iron Father, protect our eyes and ears from the perversions and lies of the enemy so that we will be used for Your special occasions.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
