Today's Scripture *February 6, 2009*
1 Thessalonians 2: 11-12
And you know that we treated each of you as a father treats his own children. We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory.
No loving father would neglect the safety of his children, allowing them to walk into circumstances that might be harmful or fatal. In the same way, we must take new believers under our wing until they are mature enough to stand firm in their faith. We must help new Christians become strong enough to influence others for the sake of the Good News.
God, help us to encourage newer Christians around us.
May we use a gentle, loving, nurturing spirit with those who are new to the Christian life.
Help us to live our lives as examples of good Christian practices.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
