OUR SHIELD AND BUCKLER

The Lord spoke to my heart back in the early 70’s and told me that I would live to see the faithfulness of His love in looking after Ruby and myself.  We had not even considered living in Israel at the time but as the Lord worked in preparing our hearts to put down roots in Israel the Lord quickened to us Psalms 91.  Ruby and I are grateful to the Lord for this awesome Psalm and praise Him for looking over each word of it to perform it.

As you know we have said very little about any type of persecution that has come our way while living out His calling for our lives.  One of the promises of God is that those who endeavor to possess His kingdom will face persecution.  Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God suffers violence and those who take it will take it by force.  Of course His definition of force is different from that of the world, but never the less we will have to engage in spiritual battle to take the land He has for us.

The Body of Christ is under persecution in Israel.  God makes no distinction in His body.  Every born again believer makes up the Body.  Man is a professional in dividing up His body and laying claims on some little part of it.  The devil loves for us to squabble over variables and to take on an attitude of we have the corner on His truth.  God help us to lay aside our little petty differences and unite together in the Spirit.  The battle is going to get more intense and we desperately need one another.

I received a letter from Ami’s mom that reads –Ami and all of our family thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers.  We have felt them and seen the results before our eyes.  Everyday our Ami improves dramatically. He can walk and sit in a chair.  He sees perfectly with both eyes, and he improves daily, emotionally, physically and spiritually.  His wounds are healing so fast that it astounds the nurses and doctors.

I can truly say that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and that he will eventually return to normal life.  Even though a horrific act was perpetrated, the Lord has been Good, and we are grateful.   We are grateful for the hundreds of postcards, emails and letters from all over the world that has been a real encouragement to him and to us.

Ami  will God willing move to a rehabilitation facility soon where he will begin intensive physical therapy.  Please continue to pray for continued total healing. Thank you and God bless you all.   Leah Ortiz

Our mini golf was broken into this past week.  When we first opened the mini golf seven years ago we were broken into at least once a week.  We have seen the Lord drive out the enemy over the years and know that we are in the process of becoming more than conquerors.   Romans 8: 37   We saw from the beginning that God wants us to stand and having done all to stand.  Ephesians 6:13-14

“I will say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages;  I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, to take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and good, that dwell in the midst of the land.”  Ezekiel 38:11-12

I believe the Lord has a calling for all of us that are willing to go, like Abraham, not knowing.  Without the calling it is quite scary, but when you know He is sending you to become first fruits so that others might follow then you stare death in the face and say to yourself that our God is giving us a testimony that will stand the test of time.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death”  Revelation 12:11

Thanks for standing with the Ortiz family and all of those who have been sent to the front lines of retaking this land for our God.  Ruby and I will be returning to Israel in May and we appreciate your love, prayers and support.  May God grant all of us a fighting spirit as we engage the enemy of our souls who has come to kill, steal and destroy.  Praise God that Jesus has come to give us an abundant life.
