Some years ago April and I were on opposite sides of the proverbial bedroom. No matter what I did I couldn't get her attention. I realized I needed to appeal to her senses as well as her mind.
In Song of Songs; Solomon describes his bride in every detail. Eyes, hair, teeth, smile, lips, cheeks, neck, breasts, thighs, feet, naval, nose, head, slender (figure), breath. This is a man who has studied his woman. Solomon understood that a man has to desire to hear what his wife is saying without her words.
I became a student of my bride, I watched her and observed her every mannerism. When she licked her lips I would get her a drink--without her asking. I paid attention to her breathing as I touched her to discover what was most pleasing. If I upset her (more obvious to tell) I back tracked in my mind to understand how I had hurt her and apologized specifically for the offence. I began taking better care of myself, presenting myself to her in ways that appealed to her. Most of all, I dated my lady. I took her out, paid attention and made her my one and only desire. Eventually; I wasn't the only one who desired their beloved.

Lord, thank You for creating chemistry in a marriage. Thank You for honoring faithfulness to Your word. I pray that You would strengthen men to desire their wives, not only for intimacy; but to sweep them off of their feet. I pray for each couple reading Your Word that they would feel like the bride and groom at the top of the cake. In the powerful Name of Jesus. Amen.
