Ashley's Today's Scripture *February 8, 2008*

Psalm 14:1

Only fools say in their hearts,
      “There is no God.”
   They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;
      Not one of them does good!

When you read this Scripture, do you think of yourself as a fool? Do you believe in false gods, or idols ? There are many verses in the Old Testament telling us and warning us about following false gods. All say how bad they are and how against God they are. We need to follow and trust in God... The creator of all things and the creator of life. Why worship these statues, these pieces of metal? Why worship money and fame? They don't reach their arms out to you, they don't control what happens to you every moment of every day. They are just pieced of metal. Follow a God who cares, follow a God that knows who you are, follow a God that knows every hair on your head.

Dear Lord,

I pray that everyday of our lives that we will be fully devoted to You. I pray that we will not be ashamed of Your Name...Amen
