Today's "Marriage" Scripture by Jason Hunt *February 21, 2009*
Joshua 1:14
Your wives, children, and livestock may remain here in the land Moses assigned to you on the east side of the Jordan river. But your strong warriors, fully armed, must lead the other tribes across the Jordan to help them conquer their territory.
God told Joshua "..I will not fail you or abandon you."Joshua 1:5 With that he rallied the troops to take the land God had promised them. Joshua called upon the strong warriors to take the battle field. Joshua admonished them first to be fully armed.
Far too often we men go into battle without the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Even worse; women are sent to battle as the men stay behind. Don't fool yourself to think the enemy doesn't recognize that you didn't come to the fight, that you have neglected to pray for your family, leaders, and brothers and sisters. Men, we must put down the remote, leave the clubs in the garage, and humbly arm ourselves for war with the assurance that God will not fail us or abandon us.
Lord and Commander of the Heavenly Armies, I pray that You would raise us up as warriors. Thank You for Your faithfulness to never fail or abandon us. Equip us Father for the battle as we fight in Your strength to conquer the land.
In Jesus' Name.
