John 19:36-37
These things happened in fulfillment of the Scriptures that say, “Not one of his bones will be broken,” and “They will look on the one they pierced.”
Jesus died as the lambs for the Passover meal were being slain. Not a bone was to be broken in these sacrificial lambs (Exodus 12:46 Each Passover lamb must be eaten in one house. Do not carry any of its meat outside, and do not break any of its bones. ; Numbers 9:12 They must not leave any of the lamb until the next morning, and they must not break any of its bones. They must follow all the normal regulations concerning the Passover. ) Jesus, the Lamb of God, was the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world (1 Corinthians 5:7 Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us)
O Jesus, Perfect Lamb of God! We worship You!
We thank You and praise Your Mighty Name for the precious gift of Jesus Christ!
May we remember all year round ; who You are and what You have done for us!
