Today's "Marriage" Scripture by Jason Hunt *April 20, 2009*

Proverbs 16:21

The wise are known for their understanding,
And pleasant words are persuasive.

Have you ever tried to convince someone to do something they didn't want to do? Marriage is full of difficult decisions. Where to live, how many children to have, how much to give to those in need. As husbands it is critical that we rely on hearing from God, that we gain His understanding for us. Once we hear from Him we must be able to influence our families to follow suit. When we communicate in love and for His purposes we play a much more effective role in our homes.

Lord, You speak to us in love, You gift us with understanding. These only come from You. May we have influence in our homes to encourage our wives and raise children that serve only You. In Jesus' name. Amen
