Today's Scripture *April 28,2008*
1 Samuel 2:21 And the Lord gave Hannah three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile Samuel grew up in the presence of the Lord.
God honored the desires of faithful Hannah. We never hear about Peninnah or her children again, but Samuel was used mightily by God. (Peninnah was the other wife of Samuel's dad--who would mock and tease Hannah because she was unable to bear children) God also gave Hannah five children in addition to Samuel. God often blesses us in ways we do not expect. Hannah never expected to have a child at her age, much less six children! Don't resent God's timing. His blessings might not be immediate, but they will come if we are faithful to do what He says in His Word.
Thank You Father for Your Word to us today. May we be more like Hannah in her faithfulness to You. Hannah kept her word God, and we too want to keep our word as we vow to follow after You and dedicate our own lives to Your service. In Jesus' Name, Amen..
