Today's "Marriage" Scripture *April 25, 2009* by Jason Hunt

1 John 4:18-19 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love. We love each other because He loved us first.

Any sports fan has heard all of the cliches when a player is interviewed. 'We have to give it 110%'; ' We have to leave it all on the floor'; 'We have to battle hard'; 'There is no quit in this team'; ' Everyone in our room is accountable to each other' ; 'We don't play for the name on the back, we play for the crest on the front'

Imagine if we all gave 110%, battled hard, never quit, were accountable and gave Glory to God rather than sought it for ourselves in marriage. If asked; would your spouse say you deserve the marriage Super Bowl, Stanley Cup or Pennant? Why not go all out for your spouse? Such love has no fear.

What are you afraid of?

Father of Love, reveal Your heart for us in marriage. You love us without thought of any return. May we love without fear, in Your perfect love.
