Today's Scripture *May 27, 2009*
Matthew 28: 20
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
How is Jesus "with us" ?
Jesus was with the disciples physically until He ascended into heaven and then spiritually through the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:4-5 Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
The Holy Spirit would be Jesus' presence that would never leave them.
But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. John 14:26
Jesus continues to be with us today through His Spirit.
Thank You Jesus for never leaving us!
Your Spirit is here with us, guiding us, guarding us, encouraging us, directing us.
Help us to lean ever more on Your Spirit and Your Mighty Word.
