Genesis 19:26
But Lot’s wife looked back as she was following behind him, and she turned into a pillar of salt.
Lot's wife turned back to look at the smoldering city of Sodom. Clinging to the past, she was unwilling to turn completely away.
Are you looking back longingly at sin while trying to move forward with God? You can't make progress with God as long as you are holding on to pieces of your old life.
Jesus said it this way in Matthew 6:24 -- "No one can serve two masters."
God we want to serve only You.
We want to be devoted to a new life in You.
Give us the desire to press forward and not look back.
May we desire only the things of You. In the Name of Jesus, Amen..
