Ashley's Today's Scripture *September 6, 2009*
James 1:2
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
The past two weeks have been my first weeks of High School. Going to a public school filled with non-Christian kids and kids that hate their lives is difficult for a Christian like me. Finding friends is difficult, also, and there are many temptations. One that seems to come up often are drugs. I have been offered drugs twice now and both times I had to stand up and say, "no". When I said no I was proud that I was able to turn down the temptation to do something I knew I was not supposed to do. I found joy in this and realized how much God is here making sure that I make good choices. Consider these temptations pure joy.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for today and for our friends and family. Father I pray that You will help us to consider it pure joy when trials and temptations come our way. Thank You for being here for us and walking along with us.
In Jesus' Name We Pray
