With The Holy Spirit In Control, We Automatically Bear The Fruit Of The Spirit, And We Automatically Obey The Laws Of God, Which Will Then Be Written In Our Heart And Mind
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
In Galatians, chapter five, Paul lists seventeen things as "works of the flesh" and nine things as "fruit of The Spirit. He says that flesh and Spirit are in conflict. And he urges us to live by The Spirit and not by the flesh.
Works Of The Flesh Fruit Of The Spirit
1. Adultery 1. Love
2. Fornication (Greek: porneia) 2. Joy
3. Uncleanness 3. Peace
4. Lasciviousness (lewdness) 4. Longsuffering (patience)
5. Idolatry 5. Gentleness (kindness)
6. Witchcraft 6. Goodness
7. Hatred 7. Faith
8. Variance (discord) 8. Meekness
9. Emulations (jealousies) 9. Temperance (self control)
10. Wrath
11. Strife (rivalries)
12. Seditions (dissentions)
13. Heresies
14. Envyings
15. Murders
16. Drunkenness
17. Revellings (carousing)

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use
not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love
serve one another.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye
be not consumed one of another.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not
fulfil the lust of the flesh.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the
other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;
Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath,
strife, seditions, heresies,
21
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in
time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with
the affections and lusts.
25
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one
another, envying one another.
LAWS OF GOD
With the Holy Spirit in control, God's laws are written in our heart and mind, and we obey.
"And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in
my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."
(Ezekiel 36:27 KJV)
"This is the covenant that I will make with them after
those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into
their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;"
(Hebrews 10:16 KJV)
" . . . for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." (John
14:17 KJV)
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit
Of God dwelleth in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV)
"For this is the covenant that I will make with the
house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I
will put my laws into their mind, and write them in
their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they
shall be to me a people:" (Hebrews 8:10)
"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with
the house of Israel; After those days, saith the
LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and
write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and
they shall be my people." (Jeremiah 31:33 KJV)
"At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and
ye in me, and I in you." (John 14:20 KJV)
