Today's Scripture *October 7, 2009*
Psalm 55: 12-14
It is not an enemy who taunts me—
I could bear that.
It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me—
I could have hidden from them.
Instead, it is you—my equal,
My companion and close friend.
What good fellowship we once enjoyed
As we walked together to the house of God.
Nothing hurts as much as a wound from a friend. At times friends may need to lovingly confront you in order to help you, but betrayal truly hurts. Betrayal by a friend had caused David great anguish. Real friends stick by you in times of trouble and bring healing, love, acceptance, and understanding. What kind of friend are you? Don't betray those you love.
Father God, help us to be true friends. May we love, encourage, give compassion, bring healing, and understanding to our relationships.
Help us to confront in love, and encourage with patience and grace. In Your Mighty Name, Amen..
Bless you friends,
April
