Today's Scripture *October 12, 2009* Canadian Thanksgiving
Psalm 138: 1-3
I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart;
I will sing your praises before the gods.
I bow before your holy Temple as I worship.
I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness;
For your promises are backed
By all the honor of your name.
As soon as I pray, you answer me;
You encourage me by giving me strength.
Thanksgiving should be an integral part of our praise to God. This theme is woven throughout the Psalms. As we praise and thank God for material and spiritual blessings, we should also thank Him for answered prayer. Remember when you asked God for protection, strength, comfort, patience, love, or other special needs, and He supplied them. Beware of taking God's provision and answered prayer for granted.
Ephesians 5: 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanksgiving to God is a command, it is not optional. And it is not merely given when things are going our way. God's Word commands us to
"give thanks for everything" -- not just the good times! Not just in those moments when we feel on top of the world. In all things give thanks to Him who created the heavens and the earth.
God, we thank You for all things! We praise You and give You thanks with all our heart.
We sing praises to You, O God. We bow down and worship You! We praise Your Holy Name!
We praise You for your love and faithfulness! Thank You for giving us all we ever need.
Thank You for hearing each prayer. Thank You for Your "yes" and thank You for Your "no".
In all things we give You thanks! In Jesus' Name, Amen..
