Ashley's Today's Scripture *November 23, 2009*

Proverbs 12:19
Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed.

Telling the truth is something that we have all been told to do at one point in our lives. It hasn't always been easy to tell the truth, and we all have struggled with it. One thing that we have to realize is that lying is not okay. God says he detests liars. We need to be sure that we are telling the truth no matter the trouble we might get in. A lie grows bigger and bigger. All lies are soon to be exposed. I remember when I told a "little lie" that I didn't think was going to get big. However, it soon grew so big that I couldn't control it anymore and the lie was exposed. I got in so much trouble for that and I would have gotten in less if I would have told the truth in the first place.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for this day. Thank You for Your Word and how it teaches us and helps us.
I pray that You will help us not to lie and that we will become wise and remember this Scripture.
In Jesus' Name We Pray
Amen
