Today's Scripture *December 12, 2009*
1 Thessalonians 2: 5
Never once did we try to win you with flattery, as you well know. And God is our witness that we were not pretending to be your friends just to get your money!
It's disgusting to hear a person butter up someone.
Flattery is phony, and it covers up a person's real intentions.
Christians should not be flatterers. Those who proclaim, God's truth have a special responsibility to be honest.
Are you honest and straightforward in your words and actions? Or do you tell people what they want to hear in order to get ahead or gain approval?
Heavenly Father, O Gracious King of kings! We thank You for Your Holy Word.
Help us to be honest and straightforward in our actions.
May we remember that it is Your approval that we should be seeking above all others.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
God bless you!
