Today's Scripture *May 13, 2008*
Proverbs 21:3
The LORD is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.
Sacrifices are not bribes to make God overlook our character faults.
We can't exchange good behavior in one area for bad behavior in another. If our personal and business dealings are not characterized by justice, no amount of generosity when the offering plate is passed will make up for it.
God looks in the inside and He is looking at our character at all times!
God, may we live lives that are filled with doing what is right and just. Help us to remember that You look at more then our sacrifices and outward behaviors. You see the heart! You can see our real motives and our real desires. May our character line up with what You would have us be. In Jesus' Name, Amen..
