Deuteronomy 14: 22-23
“You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain,new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the Lord your God.
The Bible makes the purpose of tithing very clear--to teach us to fear the Lord and to put Him first in our lives. We are to give God the first and best of what we earn. For example, what we do first with our money shows what we value most. Giving the first part of our paycheck to God immediately focuses our attention on Him. It also reminds us that all we have belongs to Him. A habit of regular tithing can keep God at the top of our priority list and give us a proper perspective on everything else we have.
Thank You Jesus, for everything that You have done for us.
Thank You for loving us so much that You came and died for our sins.
May we always put You above all others and above all material possessions.
You are our Provider and we place our hope and trust in You.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
*IMPORTANT NOTE* After a week of prayer and conversation as a family--we have decided to take a Sabbath day away from the computer.
So for Sunday's I will no longer be sending out a new Scripture devotion. Devotions for the weekend will be combined into one day (Saturday).
Ashley's Today's Scripture will resume on Monday's and Jason's "Marriage" Today's Scripture will switch now to Friday's.
After Six Years of sending the devotional--we just need some time now to truly "rest". We hope you will understand and support us in our obedience to the Lord's leading in this area. Today's Scripture will continue to be sent 6 days a week.
