Today's Scripture *February 6 & 7, 2010*
Philippians 4: 6
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Here are five ways to be thankful:
(1) We can be thankful that God answers our prayers (Isaiah 65: 24 I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!; John 11:41 So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. )
(2) We can be thankful for God's provision for our needs (1 Thessalonians 5: 17-18 Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.; 1 Timothy 4: 4-5 Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks. For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer)
(3) We can be thankful for God's blessings (1 Chronicles 16: 34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.)
(4) We can be thankful for God's character and wondrous works (Psalm 7: 17 I will thank the Lord because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.; 2 Corinthians 9: 15 Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!; Revelation 11: 17 And they said, “We give thanks to you, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who always was, for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign.)
(5) We can be thankful for our brothers and sisters in Christ (Ephesians 1: 16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, ; Philippians 1: 3-5 Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. )
Have you thanked God today?
Hebrews 12: 28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.
God, we thank You for all that You have done and continue to do!
We thank You for Jesus Christ! We thank You for hearing our prayers and answering them!
We thank You for providing for our needs! We thank You for the blessing of being called Your children!
We thank You for each and every Christian brother and sister!
You are Good Lord! All the time! And we give You honor, praise, and thanks this day!
In Your Mighty Name! Amen..
