2 Timothy 2: 23-26
Again I say, don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.
As a teacher, Timothy helped those who were confused about the Truth. Paul's advise to Timothy, and to all who teach God's Truth, is to be kind and gentle, patiently and courteously explaining the Truth. Good teaching never promotes quarrels or foolish arguments. Whether you are teaching Sunday school, teaching a Bible study, or preaching in church, remember to listen to the people's questions and treat them respectfully, while avoiding foolish debates. If you do this, those who oppose you will be more willing to hear what you have to say and perhaps turn from their error.
Father, we thank You today for Your Word.
Lord, we pray that as we learn and as we help teach others about Your Truth, that You will give us the grace, and gentle patience needed.
May we seek wise counsel as well as give it to others. May we never deviate from Your Word as we instruct or correct others.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
Thank you all for your prayers as we traveled on vacation. We are safely at home and settling back into our regular routines.
It is great to be back home and as always, a pleasure to be in your homes delivering the Word of God once again.
