1 John 2:15
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
Loving the world is quite easy. People have fun, party, travel, and seem to enjoy it very much. The world has lots to offer and the people in it are not always the best influences. Recently I went to Florida and on the plane on the way there, there was these two younger men who were going to Miami to "party" and have the time of their lives. Our plane was getting ready to depart at 6:30 that morning and already these men were drinking and by the time we boarded the plane they were drunk. They were enjoying themselves and enjoying what the world has to offer. It is hard to turn away from all the things that the world has in store for you. But even though that may seen "funner" or more enjoyable, in the long run burning in hell wishing that you would have listened to God's plans for you, isn't going to be fun or enjoyable at all. If you do all the things of the world you do not have the love of God in you. Make the decision, today--20 years of fun. Or the rest of eternity in the best place ever and with the best of company. With your God.
Dear Lord,
I pray that You will convict those that do not have Your love in them. I pray that You will open their hearts and make them realize how important You are. I pray that people will make the right choice and not just think of the short term, but the long term. And when they do think of the long term that they will see You in it.
In Jesus' Name We Pray
