Today's Scripture *May 17, 2008*
Psalm 106: 40-42
That is why the Lord’s anger burned against his people,
And he abhorred his own special possession.
He handed them over to pagan nations,
And they were ruled by those who hated them.
Their enemies crushed them
And brought them under their cruel power.
God allowed trouble to come to the Israelites in order to help them. Our troubles can be helpful because they,
(1) Humble us,
(2) Wean us from the allurements of the world and drive us back to God,
(3) Vitalize our prayers,
(4) Allow us to experience more of God's faithfulness,
(5) Make us more dependant upon God,
(6) Encourage us to submit to God's purpose for our lives, and
(7) Make us more compassionate toward others in trouble.
God, today we praise You for You are the Creator of the Universe!
You made us, You sustain us, You alone are worthy to be praised!
May we remember always when troubles come, that You are there for us. You will never leave us, nor forsake us. You are always there when we call out, "Abba, Father". Thank You Lord for showing us how we can turn our troubles into opportunities to serve You with all our hearts! In Jesus' Name, Amen..
God bless you!

April
