Today's Scripture *March 13-14, 2010*
Philemon 1: 17-19
So if you consider me your partner, welcome him as you would welcome me. If he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, charge it to me. I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it. And I won't mention that you owe me your very soul!
Paul genuinely loved Onesimus. Paul showed his love by personally guaranteeing payment for any stolen goods or wrongs for which Onesimus might be responsible. Paul's investment in the life of this new believer certainly encouraged and strengthened Onesimus's faith. Are there young believers who need you to demonstrate such self-sacrifice toward them? Be grateful when you can invest in the lives of others, helping them with Bible study, prayer, encouragement, support, and friendship.
God, we praise You for Your Word of Life to each of us.
Help us to demonstrate Your love and kindness to all believers around us.
We all play a part in the growth of one another, so please guide us as we learn to set aside our selfish ambition to minister life giving encouragement and time into another. In Jesus' Name, Amen..
Have a blessed weekend!
Love your sister in Christ,
April
