John 16:7
But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don't, the Advocate won't come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
Unless Jesus did what He came to do, there would be no Good News. If He did not die on the Cross for us, He could not remove our sins; He could not rise again on the Third Day and defeat death. If He did not go back to the Father, the Holy Spirit would not come. Christ's presence on earth was limited to one place at a time. His leaving meant He could be present to the whole world through the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2: 23 But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him.
Acts 4: 10...by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead.
On Good Friday we remember that Jesus died on the Cross for our sins. And as He was nailed to the Cross and breathed His last breath as a man--He stretched out His arms, thought of you personally, and died for you! What amazing love is this? That a Savior would give His life for you?
Now-- what will you give to Christ in return? All He is asking for is your love, your belief, and an eternity to spend with you.
Precious Lord Jesus, we worship You in spirit and in truth!
We reflect on this day on the greatest sacrifice ever made on our behalf.
You have loved us with an everlasting love! An eternal love that is without end.
Thank You, Jesus, for the Cross. Thank You for the nail pierced hands.
Thank You for the gift You have given to each one of us who believes in You--Your Holy Spirit!
Our Advocate! Thank You for the opportunity we have today to live a life devoted to You.
In Jesus' Wonderful, Magnificent, Omnipresent, and Risen Name.. Amen..
