Today's "Marriage' Scripture *April 30, 2010*
Ecclesiastes 9:10
Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.
We all look back on situations or decisions and ask ourselves if we did the right things or put in enough effort. That is a conversation we will all have with God. It will be too late for work, planning and smarts when God asks us what we did with that which He gave us. Education finishes, jobs come and go and we should strive to be excellent at all of these. But--Marriage is for life!! Don't allow yourself to come to the end of your days feeling like you didn't 'leave it all on the field'. When we excel in marriage we show our children an excellent example. In the words of Bill S. Preston "Be excellent".
Lord, it is by Your design that we live and breath. Show us the way to excellence Father. Give us the strength, perseverance, humility and love to be excellent at all we do. May we excel at bringing glory to Your name.
In Jesus' name.
