Ashley's Today's Scripture *May 3, 2010*
Song of Solomon 8:4
Promise me, O women of Jerusalem,not to awaken love until the time is right.
Going into high school all you hear about is relationships; how people are dating so and so, and how this person likes this person and so on and so forth. With all this going on there are boys that want you to be theres just so they can say that they have you. When you are in a relationship in school you gain a different kind of status then when you are not. Even though relationships benefit you for popularity sake that doesn't mean that it is going to benefit you in the long run. You hear 15, 16 and 17 year olds talk about how they love this person and how their heart was broken. The real truth is: people need to make sure that they are following by this Scripture. I know of one particular girl personally who has had seven boyfriends this year-- all of whom have led her to make mistakes that she strongly regrets. This is a Scripture that I believe had she been taught--she would have saved herself some real heartache and a world of regret.
We all need to be reminded of this Scripture so that we don't awaken love before the time is right .
1 Timothy 4: 12 Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your Word and how it effects us and touches our hearts. I pray that You will help us to follow it and let it penetrate deep within our hearts, thoughts, and minds.
In Jesus' Name We Pray
