Ashley's Today's Scripture *May 17, 2010*

1 Chronicles 28:9

And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever

We are called to obey God and serve Him with full hearted devotion. Which means that when we serve we need to do it with a joyful heart and not be moping around and sulking because we aren't at home watching TV or we aren't out with friends. We need to be happy and joyful when we are serving. We cant just pretend to be happy because God knows our thoughts and He knows our hearts. We need to seek the Lord for if we don't-- we may not get the opportunity again and we will be rejected forever.

Dear Lord ,

I pray that You will help us to have a new heart when we serve , that we wont be upset or frustrated with the thought of serving.

But that we will be happy and joyful that we can do work for You. I thank You that we can be apart of Your church and Your family.
