Today's Scripture *June 3, 2010*

Proverbs 17: 27-28
A truly wise person uses few words;
      a person with understanding is even-tempered.
 Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent;
      With their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.

This proverb highlights several benefits of keeping quiet :
(1) It is the best policy if you have nothing worthwhile to say;
(2) It allows you the opportunity to listen and learn;
(3) It gives you something in common with whose who are wiser.
Make sure you pause to think and to listen so that when you do speak, you will have something important to say and people will be eager to listen to you.
Proverbs 18: 21 The tongue can bring death or life;those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

Lord, we all seem to love to talk. Guide us and help us guard our speech.
May everything that we say be to bring honor and glory to Your Name.
Help us to learn to tame our tongues and learn the wisdom of staying quiet when we have nothing worthwhile to say.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..

God bless you!
