Esther 4:16
“Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.”
"Save your own skin", and "Watch out for #1" are mottoes that reflect our worlds selfish outlooks on life.
Esther's attitude stands in bold contrast to this. She knew what she had to do, and she knew it could cost her her life. And yet, she responded, "If I must die, I must die".
We should have the same commitment to do what is right despite the possible consequences.
Do you try to save yourself by remaining silent rather than standing up for what is right?
Decide to do what God wants, and trust Him for the outcome.
Heavenly Father, we praise You and give You thanks for Your Word to us today.
Help us to seek Your will and desire for our lives.
May we always seek to do what is right despite the consequences.
Thank You for the hero's of the Bible who show us clearly the characteristics that we too should possess.
May we be more and more like Christ each new day. And less and less like ourselves.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
John 3: 30 He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.
2 Corinthians 3: 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
