Joshua 3: 9
Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God.
Quite often we hear this spoken in Christian conversations : "I'm just waiting to hear from God", or "I'm waiting to see what God thinks about this or that".
While waiting on God's timing is vital to our Christian walk--we need to recognize that God is speaking to us every single day! We are just too busy talking to hear Him speak!
God's Word is never changing. It is the same yesterday, today and forever. His Word is without repentance and He will never change His mind!
"Listen to the words of the LORD"; "Be still"..are some of the commands of Scripture. God speaks to you even now--be sure to spend the time to listen! Clear your mind of popular opinion! Clear your mind of your own desires and ambitions! God IS speaking! And the more time you spend listening to Him--stilling your spirit and mind--the more you will hear clearly the unchanging Word of God spoken directly to your heart!
Psalm 46: 10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
Heavenly Father, we are in awe of who You are! Thank You for wanting to hear from us; but more importantly, thank You for talking to us!
Thank You for Your Word which You have imparted to each of Your children. Thank You for teaching us Your ways. Thank You for showing us how to live; how to respond; how to speak; and how to listen! May we truly 'be still, and know that YOU are God'! May we spend more time listening to Your voice! Rather than our own and that of popular opinion. God, thank You that You have not grown quiet..You have always been and will always be, right here with us. Talking, teaching, guiding, correcting, and loving us. May we quiet down enough to 'hear and listen to the words of the LORD our God'. In the Matchless Name of Jesus, Amen..
