Today's "Marriage" Scripture by Jason Hunt *June 19-20, 2010*
Matthew 7:24-27 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn't obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
Notice how both the man who builds his house on solid rock and he who builds on sand face storms? No one is impervious to the trials of life. If you are thinking about starting a family; take pause. Do you want your house built on solid rock or shifting sand?
Seek God's Word regarding all you do, buying a house, a car, having children, sex, money and everything else under the sun.
If you have already started a family and feel like the ground is often shifting under your feet; we have Christ the Master Builder. He is always willing to walk beside you as you humbly tear down your walls and allow Him to lay a new foundation.
If you feel like your house is built on rock, have people over. Show them the fruits of obedience, servitude and love. Give them hope and encourage their faith in the Master Builder's ultimate design.
Lord we thank You and praise You for our families. Guide us Lord through every storm. Proverbs 10:25 When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away,but the godly have a lasting foundation. Build us a Godly foundation Father, that generations to come may be blessed for Your glory.
