Exodus 34: 7
I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations.
I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin.
But I do not excuse the guilty.
I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren;
The entire family is affected—
Even children in the third and fourth generations.”

Why would sins affect children and grandchildren?
This is no arbitrary punishment. Children still suffer for the sins of their parents. Consider child abuse or drugs or alcoholism, for example. While these sins are obvious, sins like selfishness and greed can be passed along as well. The dire consequences of sin are not limited to the individual family member. Be careful not to treat sin casually, but repent and turn from it. The sin may cause you little pain now, but it could sting in a most tender area of your life later--your children and grandchildren.
Acts 3: 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Father in Heaven, we praise Your Holy Name.
Thank You for Your Living Word to us today.
Help us to turn away from sin and repent.
May we take our lives and choices seriously as to not harm the walk of anyone else in our families.
May we daily dedicate our families and lives to You and Your precious Holy Spirit.
We praise You and thank You for Your forgiveness that covers a multitude of sins.
In the Matchless Name of Jesus, Amen..
