Ezekiel 23:8
For when she left Egypt, she did not leave her spirit of prostitution behind. She was still as lewd as in her youth, when the Egyptians slept with her, fondled her breasts, and used her as a prostitute.
The imagery of prostitution in Ezekiel 23 is very familiar with the path men and women follow when they fall to the temptations of pornography. First the sisters (Oholah & Oholibah) lusted after other lovers vs. 5 then they gave themselves to Assyrian officers who were notoriously attractive young men dressed in handsome uniforms who held positions of power. In vs 14 we follow Oholibah's fall into lust with her affection for paintings of Babylonian officers. Vs. 16...she longed to give herself to them, so she sent for them and slept with them. Vs 19 & 20 become even more graphic with depravity; yet she turned to even greater prostitution,
Notice that the level of destructive Behaviour intensified as the Behaviour continued, the same can be true when we choose to follow our sinful desires. Lust burns, it is a passion that continues to want more when not dealt with. Jeremiah 2:24 You are like a wild donkey,sniffing the wind at mating time.Who can restrain her lust?Those who desire her don't need to search, for she goes running to them!
Hosea 7:4 They are all adulterers,always aflame with lust.They are like an oven that is kept hot while the baker is kneading the dough.
We feed our lust when we look at pornography, read graphic romance novels or so much as watch a soap opera in some cases. Jeremiah 5:8 They are well-fed, lusty stallions,each neighing for his neighbor’s wife. Galatians 5:19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,
God knows we'd be asking, so He provided an answer; Psalm 119:9 How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. God's Word provides solutions and encouragement to attain freedom from lust; Ephesians 4:22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.
Protect the young people under your influence, most youth are first exposed to porn in their homes.
Pray in your own words in response to Paul's encouragement in 1 Peter 4:1-3 ; So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.You wont spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols.
