JUST REALLY WHO IS THE GOD OF THIS WORLD?

Posted by: Michael Stevenson on Tue, Sep 8, 2009

SO you ask "isn’t God the ‘god of this world?’" Well, that is at least what the churches want for you to understand! They want you to believe that the Creator is the "god of this world"—yet, that is something that Satan has actually convinced the world to believe because he has blinded them greatly and continues to blind them greatly and he still is out deceiving "the whole world!" So then, to understand all the things which are happening in the world, we need to understand who really is in control of this world! We need to understand that Satan has really blinded the world and convinced us that he is "god" which is what he wants—he wants us to worship him, and the truth is, most churches do just that in one way or another!

We read that "the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers"–2 Cor. 4:4 and that he is going out and that he "deceives the whole world"–Rev. 12:9 and with that, we need to begin to dig further to see just the truth regarding what it is Satan is now doing—especially since it is getting closer to time for him to be put away for 1,000 years when Jesus Christ returns at the close of this present age!

Whenever we follow Satan, we are opening the door for many things to take place that will not be good. Often times, those things which are bad such as disease, famine, and all the troubles of the world could be avoided if only we would follow God. But because the world has become so blinded by Satan, the world does not know the ways of God.

We find Jesus speaking to those who are not part of God’s true Church when he says "If God were your Father, you would love Me, because I came from God and I am here. For I didn’t come on My own, but He (the Father) sent Me. Why don’t you understand what I say? Because you cannot listen to My word. You are of your father the Devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of liars."–John 8:42-44 HCSB

What does this mean for you? If you are going the way of the world, observing its pagan customs such as Christmas, Easter, New Year’s, Halloween and other holidays, if you are following the "way of the cross" and you are listening to those ministers of churches that claim to be "Christian" but don’t proclaim the soon coming Kingdom of God as the focus of their message, then you listening to Satan. Remember that John the Revelator has said that Satan "deceives the world" and that means the majority.

Only a few even know the way of the truth. Only a few people even observe the true Sabbath, Holy Days, avoiding pagan holidays, avoiding the observance of crosses and so forth.

Why is it that we follow these things if we are in God’s Church? It is because we are following the way that Jesus had taught us—the very way that he had commanded us (Matthew 28:20) and we do this because we know that it is the only way that we are to follow!

But, while this is the way that we need fo follow, Satan is still active and working. The closer we get to the time that Jesus returns, the more Satan is going to be working!

We need to "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Messiah, and they will deceive many."–Matt. 24:4-5 HCSB. This means that false ministers are going to come, claiming that they are of Christ, claiming that they have the truth, claiming that they are preaching the truth and saying that Jesus is the Messiah. Yet, they are deceiving many people with their false gospel which is a gospel Satan has devised.

So then, so far, we see that Satan is the deceiver, liar, and that he is also the accuser! Satan means "accuser" and he does that! He accuses God’s people daily. But, God is not going to be putting up with it much longer.

So, first, Satan claims ownership over all those who are not of God’s Church—he claims ownership over them that are not called of God, or have been called and have not listened to that calling and joined with God’s people. Remember that Jesus had declared that those who are not of God are of Satan (John 8:44) and that therefore is making Satan their "god". Remember that Satan is "the god of this world" (2 Cor. 4:4) and he further is the prince or ruler of this world (John 12:31) and because Satan is the ruler of this world, he is therefore controlling this world (1 John 5:19) and thus, God’s people are being controlled by God (1 John 5:19) while this world is controlled and led by Satan who wants all glory and power to himself.

We need to be very cautious because Satan will literally mask himself as someone who is good and even as an angel of light. We need to make sure that we are following God if we are in God’s Church.

But, if we have not been called to God’s Church, if we are still obeying Satan and we are still following man’s churches, then we need to make sure that we try and seek God’s help to come out of all that and into God’s Church if we know God is calling us and we are hearing him calling us.

Now we come to the very fact that Satan has blinded people to God’s truth because he is a liar and he is the father of lies (John 8:44). Remember in the Garden, he lied to Eve and convinced her to partake of the fruit. Because Satan is the father of lies, the majority of the world—those who are into the pagan customs of this world, cannot understand God’s truths and they will not accept those truths while they are led by Satan (2 Cor. 2:14) and Satan desires to take the seed away from those who perhaps is in most need of it (Matt. 13:1-9).

If we know we are being called to God’s truth and to God’s Church, then what is our response going to be? Are we going to respond and to accept God’s call and forsake this work and forsake the workings of Satan, or are we going to keep on going down this road that the world follows so that we are continually blinded by Satan?

Satan also is great at manipulating God’s Word. He loves to lie about what God has said and he does this as to trick people into following him. Remember, this is what he did in Genesis 3 with Eve. He tricked her and twisted the truth of God to get her to partake of the fruit that God forbade Adam and Eve to partake of.

Remember that Satan further used scripture to tempt Jesus. Let’s look at the three common areas that Satan used to tempt Jesus. First, we find that Satan urged Christ to turn stones and rocks into bread because Christ had fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. When you fast that long in the flesh, you are going to be quite hungry. But, Christ told Satan that man is not to live by physical food alone, but also by EVERY WORD OF GOD! (Matt. 4:4).

Next, Satan came to Jesus and tempted him to jump off of a mountain (Matt. 4:5-7) and in v. 7, Jesus told him not to tempt God. Remember Satan here told Jesus that God would give angels charge over Jesus as not to get hurt. Again Satan here used scripture.

Finally, we find that Satan took Jesus up on a mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and told him that he would give these to Christ if only Christ would worship Satan. But, Christ told Satan to get away and that we are to ONLY worship the Lord God and only serve him! (Matt. 4:8-11).

Remember, Satan here used the three most common ways that he leads people astray. 1) Satan used physical means such as food. He prayed upon the spiritual side of Christ. 2) Satan used safety. He promised that Christ would be kept safe if Christ would jump from the mountain. Often times Satan will use the safety and the physical and spiritual side to control. 3) Satan then used wealth and power. This is what he does with the world today. Notice that he uses wealth and power to control. All three of these factors when Satan uses them sounds good to those who are unaware, but in reality, they are not. They are actually common manipulations that Satan uses to catch his prey.

Then we come to the fact that Satan is a murderer and he is a thief. He murders people souls and he steals them for his purposes. He loves to take people over and get them to follow him and his ways. (John 8:44; 1 Peter 5:8) and therefore, he will stop at nothing to try to get people to follow him.

But, there is great good news and this is the topic of the Gospel. The Gospel is NOT about Christ or the person of Christ, but is about the Kingdom of God.

That good news is this: Satan is going to bound up in the near future for 1,000 years and Christ will usher in the most peaceful rule ever in the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God will then rule the earth—Christ and his people will rule and it will be a peaceful rule and no one will know the way of war, the ways of Satan and the ways of evil. We will be teaching them to observe all things that Christ has taught us to observe! What a fabulous World Tomorrow! [MT]
